British Airways new summer 2025 schedule – plus new routes

British Airways has officially launched its Summer 2025 flight schedule, and it comes packed with exciting returns and new routes that will delight both business and leisure travellers.

The Return of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

After a five-year hiatus, direct flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) are back! This route will be operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, offering passengers a comfortable, long-haul flying experience.
In addition, British Airways has expanded its codeshare agreement with Malaysia Airlines, opening up a wide range of new connections across Southeast Asia through Kuala Lumpur — making it easier than ever to explore the region.

Tbilisi, Georgia: A Cultural Gem Returns

Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, returns to British Airways’ route map for the first time since 2013. Nestled between Europe and Asia, Tbilisi offers an unforgettable city break filled with rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning scenery.
Fun fact: Georgia is often considered the birthplace of wine, with winemaking traditions that date back over 8,000 years!

More Frequencies and New Destinations

British Airways is also increasing capacity and adding new routes this summer:

  • Tokyo Haneda (HND): Flights from London Heathrow will now operate twice daily, with 14 weekly departures to the Japanese capital.

  • New Italian Routes: Starting next month, British Airways will launch new services to Rimini, Olbia, and Salerno from London Heathrow, London City, and London Gatwick respectively.

  • Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: More flights and increased capacity on the Riyadh route will add up to 80,000 additional seats compared to last year.

A Word from British Airways

Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer at British Airways, shared:

“We’re delighted to welcome Malaysia and Georgia back to our network, both of which are two key destinations that our customers know and love. From the birthplace of wine to one of the most connected cities in Asia, we hope our customers take advantage of exploring somewhere new.”

Why This Matters
